Talking whipped cream

Hey every one, 1st I wanna say this is a GREAT site, I log on like 5 times a day with questions, and I find the answers every time. I was wondering if anyone uses that whipped cream in a can? It is Reddiwhip original. It says less than 1 gram carbs per 2 tbsp serving. Could that be right? Is it ok to use on Atkins? I think it would taste better than other whipped cream using artificial sweetners. I am starting induction Mon. Can you use that stuff then or do you have to wait until owl or the other one? I am excited to be starting this diet, so many of you have made such great progress it must feel fantastic! I would love any advice any one wants to give me. I already feel very commited to this diet and can't wait to start! Thanks! Dani

Well, congratulations on your commitment Dani!

I believe Reddi-wip contains sugar so it's not the best choice. It's also important to read the ingredients on the label as well as the carb count. It's not necessary to put sweetener into whipped cream either.

Remember too that there is a limit on cream you can use per day too.

Here are the instructions on stabilizing whipped cream.
Or, you can get a whipped cream bomb. I really like the one made by ISI .

For each cup of cream use 1/2 teaspoon plain gelatin and 1 tablespoon cold water.

Soften gelatin by sprinkling it over cold water and letting it sit for for 5 minutes.

Dissolve by placing it in a container over a small pot of simmering water. Or microwave in 5 second increments until melted.

Whip the cream until barely stiff.

Add melted gelatin all at once to cream during whipping.
Stop whipping when cream forms soft peaks.

Karen

Thumbs up whipped cream

thank you for the great tip. I didn't realize there was a difference between different carbs. I thought as long as the carb count was low that it was ok. Boy, I'm glad I know now before I made some big mistakes. Thanks a lot!
