Jazz, tomcat up, love it
No I do nothing. haven't seen a dr. in like 10 plus years I am guessing LOL
no ketones, no macros, no BS checks, I do squat. Every time we manipulate carnivore we work against our bodies. One thing we want to always do is eat meat, drink water. Get in good fats for sure like you said but if you over push fat intake you will be working against yourself in a way.......just select good fatty cuts of meat you enjoy. That is all I do.
I wake up in the morning knowing instinctively if I need a high fat day. If I wake up and ''feel'' I need fat I will do pork belly, or ribeye steaks etc. I might eat a lb. of bacon. All in one meal. Then after I usually am fatted out so I end up eating a leaner type meat on second meal of the day.
Some days I eat all lean meats. But within a day or 2 I again ''feel'' I need higher fat intake and I jsut eat fatty again.
I go directly now by what the body ask me and I respond to it.
If I try to manipulate my eating, I start to backfire immediately. I know it cause deep down I feel my body literally working against me so I keep my 'useless dieting tips and tricks' out of my carnivore lifestyle.
not saying take blood glucose readings is a tip or trick LOL but I am not one to ever bother, all that is too much like work to me. If I have to track anything I ain't gonna do it and will just walk from the lifestyle and say screw it LOL
That is why carnivore works so well for me. I do nothing but eat what I need. Some days I eat monsterous. Some days I eat a tad less in the 1.5 lb area. Most days I truly eat 2 to 2.5 lbs of good fatty type meats and call it a day. THAT IS WHY I can survive on this lifestyle. I eat! If one don't eat, one can't make it on carnivore.
I also know when my mind wanders a tad and thinks to eat something junky or some crap food holds an interest suddenly to me I know I haven't eaten enough meat.
Today I cooked 2.8 lbs of snow crab legs. Ate every single one and did about 1/2 stick butter for dipping. OMG so rich and so satisfying. Second meal, woof, had a small cheeseburger patty cause I just couldn't handle more food intake LOL I had a happy eating day
Reason I feel so great on carnivore is I literally got out of my own way and just eat eat eat any and all I feel I need. On lower eating days when I feel like nothing is what I want in my meaty world, I just eat whatever I really want, like today I woke up and saw a sale on crab legs so hit store and got 2 monster packages and since no meats hit me, I knew I needed those crab legs and by gosh I got my paws on them and ate up with a smile on my face HAHA
I actually am a very picky and greedy carnivore. I ''do for me'' at all times what ''what I must have'' to succeed every day.
I wake up wanting ribeye and I got only NY Strips or filet mignon in freezer, I hit the store for a ribeye. When I worked and was doing carnivore I did the same thing, I would hit the store the minute it opened, sometimes waiting outside a few minutes early for them to open the damn doors, get my meat seafood fish or fowl of choice and head home, fry it up, eat fast and get on with my work day. BUT THAT kinda day could get tough, so now I am super happy I am on retirement schedule, helps alot.
but also I made sure I had an array of meats seafood fish and fowl in my freezer so if I wanted ribeye, I had one to defrost or if I wanted a leaner NY Strip steak I had it right there at home.
The minute I decided to be a greedy carnivore and put me first is when this whole lifestyle became manageable and easy. My number 1 priority is my meals in my life. I won't back down on that at all. It is my only way to make this lifestyle fit me perfectly.
So that is kinda my personal take on zero carb and how I must do it. Many can and must find a way to make it 'fit them' and make it work long term. I found my way thru the years and once here now, in a steady good firm path of carnivore, I will not ever back down or concede in how I must eat in my day ever.
So that is me in a nutshell LOL I tell everyone to take it or leave it cause I am doing it this way and ya don't like it, take the highway in the other direction and leave me the heck alone.
YUP I am that tough when it comes to eating zero carb. I come first.
ok enough of that
You hold strong. You got this and be sure to eat more actual food also. If you exist on fatty and do not take in enough protein ya ain't gonna make it long doing that. While we must have good fat intake, we must also have good actual muscle meat protein for the body to use. Fat does carry some vits/nutrients but very little, the actual meat itself is what holds all the vitamins and minerals we need to balance hormones and feed our bodies so just a word of caution, dont limit down protein intake too much or you will start to work against yourself by unbalancing your daily needs.
hope some of that info helps a bit but you will find your best way on carnivore. You feel you need this lifestyle like me so you will walk around it and find what best suits you for sure like I did.
