Total walk time - 36 mins
Total distance - 1.61 miles
With the 3.1 mph speed I have to really concentrate to keep from stepping off the treadmill's belt because my strides are so long and determined and my arms are swinging to be able to keep up.
Funny thing about it though (when I can get the HR monitor to work), it appears my heart is beating slower with these speeds than with the slower ones as I have no problem talking and never feel the need to huff when breathing.
My legs have been another surprising thing at these speeds - they stay warm to the touch for more than an hour after I walk (c'mon new capillaries!!), as does my core body temperature. Tonight, after my last 'set', I changed into a undershirt and shorts then turned the ceiling fan on high. Ernest asked when it was going to be turned off; he was cold! It's now 2 hours after my last 'set' and I'm just now starting to feel cool.
A side note plus - the palpitations and arrythmia I started experiencing a couple days ago seems to have subsided. Hopefully my guess was right that if I had too much T4/T3 then exercising harder would put it to use instead of it jacking with my heart.

I
really like walking like this!!
