I too am watching the jaw-dropping images from SC/NC. My daughter, SIL, and my grands are still struggling on day 5 now with no power. My son has power and gas now. He went to Costco in Greenville which to everyone's surprise is fully stocked with meat and fresh fruit and produce. He filled up his car with food and water for himself and his sister.

DD is doing okay now that she has restocked. She is complaining that she has no hot water or light at night. No internet, no TV, and 2 kids under 10! Home camping. Thankfully she is a teacher and come up with some ideas. She is also still clearing trees and branches. They live in the country and have a fairly large property so they can burn as well.

Trig- THANK YOU for checking in. I had visions of you rushing to UNI to grab the kiddo. Yup, she is safer to stay put! Not only that, can you imagine her stories 10 years from now being stuck at school!! Yea I would think they have a back up plan.

So glad that tree missed your house. Sounds like you will get a new roof from it. Most people will be getting a new roof from all of this. My son included. He is missing some shingles too and his roof is about 13 years old. NEW ROOF.
Can you just think of all the rebuilds, this is going to be in the BILLIONS in damage from 3 states.

Lori- Goodness it sounds like PA was spared from all that from the storms! I know though you get your fair share! What does your week look like?

I didn't do much this weekend but rest and putter. Starting week 22!!!!!!!
22 to go if not sooner. I am starting to apply for REMOTE gigs. It may take 6 months or more...... so yea I tossed a few resume out there this weekend.

Lori, Gabby SO controls you OMGosh I love it. My boys wanted in my master at around 4am and scratching door and meowing and I got up, said come on, threw their butts out the back door and fed them tuna. Done deal HAHA

omgosh when they are near me ALL 3 do the 'kitten paw milking thingy and it irks me cause sometimes they try to suck whatever is near them and damn it hurts and darn it just isn't me ya know HAHA they gotta grow up and get normal outdoor farm cat attitude, they will cause I will make sure that goes down lol

Nicco, yea tree right? being from the North I don't 'do trees' near house ever plus leaves ya know. So South does trees near house for sun protect and keep AC costs lower but since I am North I said hell no to ANY tree near the house and just choke the AC bill HAHA This one got a tad too big but nature handled it and no other tree is gonna come close again on hitting my house. Roofer dude real great. Down the road like 6-7 miles behind where I shop and he said there is a 'May Hail Storm' damage to roof plus this storm and I am like, hail in May?? I don't remember that LOL any way start claim today and he said inspector comes out and will be new roof so hey, I pay for ins. let ins. deal.

Jazz yikes on your DD. 5 days. I never lost power thank heavens but I am just 'at the western foothills' so I was off that big nasty path. enough to take down internet tho and verizon towers screwed etc

cash for kiddo since credit cards/wifi down in her area hit hard. I made her put like 250 in purse in MONEY and then said HIDE another $100 in purse as emergeny.....I get the I DO NOT need cash, you old dinosaur you and I said ya will one day. Damn if that didnt happen LOL She used up darn near all cash with like 60 left and she is footing bill for roomie til she can get comped back on phone later.....so basically out of cash and I said ya got that emergency $100, kiddo was like YES I DO! so at least she as like $160 somthing on her and told her to CONSERVE!!!! she was then thrilled I forced that last $100 bill in her purse as ER money LOL She said she learned. HUH WHAT? COOL

All seems good so far in my part of the world. Have to deal with a gazillion leaves in pool. Got claim started for new roof. Have to probably run to the bank and see if I can deposit checks. Can't do it over phone, without my normal cell coverage I can't do deposits online let alone even google or do anything on my phone. useless piece of crap. yea technology I praise til it don't work HAHA Life was better honestly before I got more addicted to a cell phone, and at age 62, I would be horse whipped LOL ugh. but I do love the contact texting with kiddo. ok, don't get me venting and ranting.

got a rack of ribs I was gonna cook yesterday but food changed so will cook those tonight for me and Chop. first eats will be last of my monster meatloaf in fridge.

Trig.....Yes, you are the early bird today! The day is long when you get up that early, isn't it? I'm glad you are able to talk to DD thru all this. I was thinking the cell phones towers would be down etc. DH heard from his friend who lives in Asheville. They actually have a place up here.....a couple hours from us, and they are here now. They don't have storm damage, other than trees, but decided to come to PA since they won't have electricity etc. in Asheville. He said they had to go South because of washed out roads etc. before they could head North. The pics of the area are just horrendous.

Jaz....So glad your DS was able to get food and water for his sister and her family as well as himself. I'm sure they are getting weary of having no electricity. We do just everything with it! Having the young kids makes it so much harder to deal with, I'm sure. Hard for the kids to understand what's going on.

I'm supposed to be playing golf again today, but surprise surprise, it's raining...AGAIN. The showers are supposed to be out of here in the next couple hours, so we'll see what my friends want to do. UPDATED: We decided to give it a pass. We are tired of slogging around in the mud.

I have to figure out what I'm going to eat today. Oh, and I guess I'll need to plan something for DH for dinner. The best part of my upcoming cruise will be not having to cook and clean up the kitchen. DH will have to learn to be a little self-sufficient. He's gonna miss me!

What a night. I've been awake since 2:30 or so. I think my sinuses are not liking this wet weather lately and I had an ugly headache. Plus, I was starving! The scale is inching down, but my body is rebelling against the lack of food. Bacon & eggs for breakfast!

DH & I went and played 9 holes of golf yesterday afternoon. We're playing in a tournament tomorrow and he wanted to get out and swing the club a bit. It was ok, but he plays much slower than I'm used to. I felt like I had to prod him along.

The contractor is coming this morning to do some more of the little jobs around here. I really wish he wasn't coming. I'd like a quiet day, but it's not going to happen. The contractor and my cleaning lady both today. I have to make a trip to the grocery store too. Just wish this head would stop thumping. Sigh....

Sorry to be such a whiny brat this morning. I just need to have more coffee and get on with it!

Rough day yesterday! IT was Slamming at work and then I was just to exhausted to deal with anything. I am telling ya I am getting TO OLD for this job!
In all seriousness, I can't keep up with the pace and intensity of it all in the hospital. I don't have that much adrenaline left! LOLOL yea well I am rethinking my NEXT. My body and mind just want to relax some.
In a hospital EVERYTHING IS URGENT- even in my line of work. I just LOVE (NOT) when a doctor walks through the door at 3 pm and states they need a room so the current patient needs to go to another facility - like a nursing home......... TODAY!!!!

I need to remind them that the health industry is totally run by the insurance companies. THEY dictate what people can have and when they go!!!! Just a pisser........ not about the people or care....... $$$$$$$$$$ Always. Ya I am cynical, I was clueless about it all when I started 26 years ago. I thought I was going to save the world! HA-

Enough of that!

Speaking of business and such- My DD is STILL without power. They are fingers crossed today. I tell ya Ashville and Greenville got smoked. She and the family are doing OK though. They have that little generator, food, and water. More than some.

Trig- I loved loved the story regarding CASH! The Grid really did go down! My grandparents always said that too...... keep a 50.00 bill tucked somewhere safe! See inflation... it's now a 100.00. CASH is King!
Glad that Kiddo is doing fine and the Uni had a plan in place for those kids.

Do you still have cleanup on your property? New roof coming your way? My son might get a room. Some of his shingles flew off as well. My DD had 5 med size trees come down. They are still cutting it up and dragging it to the curb.

OMG those boy cubs! You need to get that "sucking" thing under control. Any "boy cub" still on the momma tit as it grows up will suffer! Just ask my ex! LOLOL Toss those kitties to the barn. Do you still have the momma cat? Is the Panther the dad?

Speaking of business...... I got wind that all LLC's need to report stuff to the IRS or get heavy fined ect. ALL LLC.... So many years ago I started an LLC. I didn't actually DO anything with it. But it has an EIN as well. SO now I need to terminate it all so it isn't a liability.
I "think" I just need a termination form from the Secretary of State and some paperwork and a filling fee. I will be looking into all that today! Thank God I saved the original paperwork in a file somewhere! LOL

I am so struggling with Cortisol right now. I feel very inflamed. My neck is still a tad jacked up, but honestly it is the stress of Being HERE. I am up 6 pounds now. urghhhhhhh nothing has changed in my diet- but my sleep these days sucks. Also I have stopped doing one meal a day and have gone to 2 as I am getting up at 5am and running. By noon I am starving. So maybe the extra meal? It is clean though..... eggs, bacon, tuna, hotdog that sort.

I will work through it. One day at a time. Work is just kicking my arse right now. Nothing is free is it? HA

YES eat 3 meals a day if you need, eat any and all times. If you are truly eating under about 2 lbs. of meat per day, your body, plus stressed out will be inflamed and not in a good situation. undereating is the number one reason so many have issues on this way of life, it backfires to undereat on carnivore, so gauge yourself by lbs. of meat. you need at least near 2 lbs per day. this kinda is a very important rule for all us carnivores cause it truly is a good policy that can be seen as needed by almost all long term carnivores that are doing great and have good results. Eat for sure, near 2 lbs best ya can.

Sorry your career is so draining on you. I am amazed at how people can work in tough industries like your medical nursing etc career cause I am one who I know can not do it. But I sure get that an emotional job that is run not on emotions, but $$$ only has to be absolutely draining on a daily basis.

You still have some time tho. Bank all ya can from the work you are doing and then start in a slow fashion truly thinking of how you can change up a bit and reduce the big load of your career into a side medical that isn't as taxing on ya. You will find that right future career path as you head more towards retirement. You are like the cats I have lol, you land on your feet even tho ya come flying in from a high altitude and hit the ground

----------My bestie Barb got internet cable back 2 days ago. I haven't yet. You would think she she is like 5 miles down the road I would have mine back by now too, nope. Verizon hotspot a tad more reliable and not dropped as much, but really can't rely on it.

Bro Gregg returned to Hendersonville right outside Asheville yesterday from Charlotte. He visited his DD cause it was his grandkids bday. He said roads are a nightmare with I40 still closed but he got home ok with side roads as detoured etc. He just got power back but no internet, cable yet. Luckily bro is in area that is not flooded like the devasation being reported in Asheville. Freaky cause seeing pics of the area I am like, darn I was there in that very area that is now to the rooftops of stores and restaurants! Insane. Talking easily over 15 ft deep of flood waters?? omg!

second, not sure but thinking of making a 2 lb mini meatloaf and eating 1/2 each day as a meal. seem to be loving my meatloaf lately, easy peasy
