Hi Megan,
Nuts are highish in carbs - about 8g per 100. Also many people - like me - can't stop at a handful - I don't finish till I've eaten the lot! If you eat nuts just be careful to count the carbs.
In the induction stage you'd be better off to spend your carb allowance on salad and veggies.
I don't think there's anything wrong with nuts per se, unless you have a bad reaction to them. They do make many people stall by the way.
