Given the shoddy and obsolete research behind many of the RDAs, to say nothing of the patently unhealthy population on which RDAs are based, makes this report incredible. There are references to studies that are well-known to be flawed in their design, either in the selection of the study group or in methodology. There are also elementary thinking mistakes displayed on a large scale.

For example, take the concern about excess vitamin A. Every multi-vitamin I've ever seen delivers pro-vitamin A, which your body converts to Vitamin A as needed, easily disposing of the rest in the urine (assuming you drink enough water). The article repeats misinformation about vit. C and E to such an extent that it would take an article of equal length to correct.

And nowhere is the bio-availability of the various forms of vitamins mentioned. A lot of popular multi-vitamins have minerals no more absorbable than rocks.
