Thanks, Jey - I figured someone on here had access to WSJ!

I realize that research and development are expensive endeavors, even with the deep pockets that pharmaceutical companies have, but the price really is ridiculous (for any new drug, not just the semaglutides).

The filled, self-injecting devices are relatively expensive as a method of taking the drug, but surely not to the point that the injecting devices are worth $200 or more of the cost per month. The vials really should be significantly less than they are.

Given how much demand there is for it (there have been shortages of the drug), surely they could easily make up any costs involved at a significantly lower price simply with increased volume of sales - since the goal seems to be to get everyone on the drugs.

But of course surely they also need to keep in mind potential damages they may need to pay out, since no doubt there were rumblings of potential lawsuits long before the stories hit the news.
