Default The Price War in Weight-Loss Drugs Is Here

This article is behind a paywall (WSJ) so I can't get in to read the whole thing, just this tiny blurb from the page:

Quote:
A price battle has broken out in the hot market for weight-loss drugs.

Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk, the pharmaceutical heavyweights selling the popular injections, are each dangling discounts to gain an edge and to induce health plans to pay up. The concessions are slashing as much as half off the price tags of the $1,000-plus-a-month medicines.

Just based on that little snippet, clearly they don't need to charge $1,000+/month for these drugs if they can all of a sudden offer as much as 50% off.

Or maybe they see the writing on the wall as far as the trials being done on oral drugs and the lawsuits over serious damage from the drugs.
