Whited,
The plain canned tomato sauce usually does not have added sugar, but about 5g of carbs, 2-3 of that fiber, per serve. https://www.dietdoctor.com/low-carb/vegetables

A fresh tomato has a very high satiety score of 92..a nutrient dense, low calorie vegetable.

Either way you look at canned or fresh tomatoes...SPC or Low Carb, they make great additions to a healthy, calorie reduced approach (unless you use high fat ground beef..I account for both carbs and fats). Before using a recipe, put the exact ingredients you will be using into a tracker, to see if it fits your plan.

Dennis…where have you been these past two years? how is your BG?
My LC approach has changed, to the point my bio notes that answers before 2021 may no longer be valid.
I use a Satiety Per Calorie approach now…lots of information about it in my Success Story, and Journal if you are interested. Weight loss and Maintenance has been easy. Happy to help you
