That 1 gram of Protein per Pound of ideal body weight leads to good health. When we "were thinking on carbs", it was all about carbs and fats. Fat is a lever to personalize your goals. You have been healing and at times underweight, so that percent of fat is perfect for you. To stay lean I need to use less fat but the satiety from protein, fermented foods, optimal micronutrients, etc. all offer that same energy you now enjoy.
