Those of us who have tried to either lose by dieting or gain weight by eating more has experienced resisitance from the the body. When your body establishes a consistant weight for a length of time, it sets itself for that weight. When you lose weight and your weight drops below the set point our bodies will turn up the thermostat
( hunger ) in an effort return you to that set weight. The body will react by reducing your metabolism and trigger hunger for the sole purpose of regaining that " natural weight ."

That hunger is a definite sign that you are about to lose weight and your body is just defending itself against the inevitable .

So then what does it mean if your appetite has decreased dramatically?

I'm just over week 2 of Induction, and I've noticed my appetite decreasing. In fact, I could have gone all day today without eating, but I forced myself to.

Is this decrease in appetite a sign that I'm doing things right, or a sign that my body is trying to shut down its metabolism to conserve energy for "starvation mode"?
