Welcome. I'm well over 50 and feeling fit as a fiddle eating low carb and avoiding Grains, Potatoes and Sugar currently. In fact I'm leaning toward an even lower "carb count" lately and concentrating on getting enough protein to maintain my active lifestyle.
Less than 50g carbohydrate a day may work for you. Give us an example of where those 50 carbs might come from as far as the foods you eat.
