If you asked the question (you know you'll always get some answers here) out of curiosity and not due to any actual experiences, I understand. I would heartily endorse low carb at any time, and particularly after a heart attack. You can combine vegetables with healthy proteins and fats (I don't care about the feigned horror of the vegans and vegetarians), but as mentioned, massive amounts of carbs are the culprit here. Low carb is more forgiving in that from my experience, one requires fewer supplements to help maintain good health compared to other dietary approaches. As people get on in age and due to consumption of predominantly carbs over a long time, the cravings for carb food increase, and it becomes harder to control one's carb consumption. Mounting addiction? Eerily similar. You can change that. That's my two cents.
