Here's my 2 cents!

The Helller's say NOT to combine diets. Drs. are very into calorie counting and that could be your problem. Maybe 1200 cals. is not enough to motivate your body to wanting to give up the pounds. That's pretty low....and I think unnecessary.

If you did well before without trying to tweak everything....do it again and just give your body a little time to trust you again. Sounds like you've really been confusing yourself. It really should be enjoyable and not so much work.
