I agree completely. I have cut out sugar, but even so, it's amazing how virtually ANYTHING with higher carbs than I want to do right now can awaken other sugar cravings in a very sneaky way. Why operate at cross purposes with how this WOE works? A lot of people (here) are working hard to re-create a semblance of how they used to eat, but that didn't work for me, it just stalled things and kept my cravings alive and well AND....weight loss was at a crawl. There was no getting around it, and I'm tired of the snail's pace of weight loss. Otherwise, losing weight becomes a lifestyle whereas I want maintenance and sane eating to be my lifestyle....so got to get that weight off first. Why drag it out?
