Hi TShip...
I saw on the news a while back the military was trying to revamp their whole meals/diet for the soliders. I think this was for mess on bases, not for the training. The Army has noticed an increase in weight of the soldiers over the years, so they took a close look at what they were feeding them. They are using more fresh veggies and less processed foods. It was easier and cheaper to feed the soldiers processed foods then cook fresh foods, but the results were heaiver out of shape soldiers.

I guess they want to keep the training meals carb loaded for engery...I don't totally agree with that, but who is going to stand up to an Army of One??

My husband is in the Army Reserves, lately it seems more like full-time army since he is always away. But he hates eating in the mess hall on post, not beacuse it taste bad, but it is so loaded with carbs.
