Hi Gail,
I agree with everyone here, but I also like the "pantometer" way of tracking my progress. Just find an old pair of too small jeans and try them on every little while. It's really fun to see the changes as the jeans get closer to fitting.
Other than that, go ahead and be obsessive--(better word I think is determined). Hey, with the amount of weight you've lost so far, you've got nothing to apologize for!
