Sounds like you also have a lot of factors that can make weight loss really difficult. Cutting out the cheese will most likely cut down your calories too. So hard to say exactly which worked, if it does.
I've been finding some really excellent, low carb fish recipes and using them with Hake, which is like the lowest fat fish ever. A big serving of Hake Veracruz is 150 calories and is super filling... tastes awesome too!
