There are some recipes that get tons of hits and that's how you can tell that they're popular. This would bring more focus by the activity and interaction, and help people who would be normally shy to try different things encouragement.
Some folks are afraid of spending the time and money on something that turns out to be a bomb. Because the recipes will be tested and rated, it eliminates that fear.
Learning to cook and think in LC is tough for lots of people. This will help them.
