Sometimes I think people make a mistake calling mashed cauliflowers 'fauxtatoes' as it gives the expectation that it will taste like mashed potatoes.

Cauliflower will never taste like potato as they are different kinds of plants.

But side dishes made with cauliflower instead of potato can be just as tasty and satisfy just the same, which makes them a good alternative for a lowcarber.

So call the dishes "mashed cauliflower" or "creamed cauliflower" or "cauliflower patties" and enjoy the taste in their own right rather than trying to simulate the taste of potatoes!
