When I first started out, I had the same sense of the "tons to lose" and that I'd never be able to it.
This is all such a mind game to me that I decided back then to allow my mind to see it only in 10 lbs increments and not allow myself to dwell in it in other negative ways.
It worked for me as I do recall getting to a place where I had to lose 10 lbs only 3 more times.
