Fasting is about the worst thing you can do to your body. Yes, you'll lose "weight" but an awful lot of that weight will be muscle. Losing fat is what we would all rather do.
Why don't you give Sugar Busters a try? Or Schwarzbein? They (and others, I'm sure) allow you to eat whole grains and a variety of fruit. Your body will thank you if you don't fast every other day.
