Are you testing your blood sugars after your reward meal too? If you're spilling sugar in your urine following your reward meal, that probably means that your blood sugars are elevated too. It could also mean that as a diabetic, CAD may not be the best plan for you. It could also mean that you are eating too many carbs at your reward meal, even if you don't feel like you are. The goal for control as a diabetic it to avoid big spikes in your blood sugar. I know for myself as a diabetic it doesn't matter how fast I eat those carbs; my blood sugars are going to spike if I eat too many.
