Thanks for the information. It says right on the can that the expiry date is on the bottom, but there's another date on the top of the can that says COCBBAC.J18.01 which is probably the manufacturer date.

There doesn't appear to be any Russian printing anywhere on the can. The only reason I thought it was from Russia is that it says it was manufactured by Interfood Processing Industry and when I did a search, it was a Russian site that came up. I took another look today and, although the page was Russian (so I couldn't read most of it), there is an address shown in English and I see now that it is in Vietnam.

I'd have no qualms about any product produced in or on behalf of a Russian company or in Vietnam--it was simply the expiry date that turned me off.
