Welcome and happy lcing! If you haven't yet, get the new version of Dr. Atkins book. I do believe he discusses diabetes in some depth. According to my doctor the controlled carbohydrate approach to eating was originally developed to help combat diabetes-so you are on the right track.

I do know that my cholesterol and triglicerides dropped like a rock in two weeks after starting this way of eating (woe).

Hopefully, your doctor will be supportive as well. Perhaps when he gets back from vacation you will have improved results to show him!
