The one thing that bothers me about the Taubes article and others is the lack of long-term data. If this is a "way of life", surely there are people who have been on it for some time, whose medical data could be analyzed? Is it that since they are not "lab rats" being fed a precise diet, then the data doesn't matter? Specifically, besides the cholesterol/heart disease issue, I'd like to know how this lifestyle impacts the gall bladder and liver.
