Is there something in the water?
What is it about the West that causes people to think they've found the promised land when they move out there? I've got a cousin in Kamloops, an uncle in Vancouver and my brother who lives in Edmonton, and they all say they wouldn't dream of coming back.
They rarely even come east for a visit--mind you, that works fine for me because I love my vacations out west, especially the mountains. But is Vanvouver really different from Toronto? Maybe a little smaller, but where else could I get stuck in a traffic jam in a park (Stanley)? And I must admit to a little jealousy (Ok, a lot) when there's a big news flash in TO every January about the daffodils in Vancouver , while we're still up to our whatevers in the white stuff.
Can't be that the people are different--I think half the population in BC and Alberta are x-Ontario. lol
