Soy is not beneficial, it messes up your hormones, whether you a male or female. It also causes hypothyroidism. Soy infant formulas are just dreadful. I highly recommend you do a search on soy. This is a good place to start: http://www.thewholesoystory.com/
whey is way better....but I agree, if you eat enough meat and eggs, and hard cheeses, you shouldn't need extra protein. What you need is fat. Too much protein can cause problems, too. Protein is converted into glucose faster than fat.
