Default what is it with the scales?

OK, I started Atkins for the 3rd or 4th time 2 1/2 weeks ago.
I understand that it is harder to lose weight after you've done it off and on BUT....One day I think I have lost 5-6 lbs and then get on the scale again (immediately after) and it registers only a 2 lbs loss. I bought a really good scale but it depends on where my feet are placed on it. I get on it nekked, first thing in the morning for consistency's sake and can't tell I am losing.

I know some of you will say, "stay off the scale" but I'm not losing anything and clothes fit the same.....ARRRGGHHH
Boyfriend has lost 14 lbs. and he's done atkins before too. Gone down a pant size already. Me...nothing I have 25 lbs. total to lose. Him, 35 lbs.
What gives?
