Hi all

I only just found this thread and I am very interested. My mother went through MP when she was 53 (late starter with TOM as well) and had to have a hysterectomy at that age, because it was the "done" thing, I think, to alleviate symptoms in that way.

Recently (I've just had my 52nd birthday) I have been getting hot flushes around my face which turns bright red, but not much night sweating. My second TOM is now overdue, so I guess this is it.........

I need to quickly catch up on what's around - I don't really want to go on HRT.

A funny story about doctors - a friend aged 32 went to her doctor saying she had had no TOM for 2 months and wasn't feeling very well. Without hesitation, he said she was going through MP and prescribed HRT for her, which she didn't take. A week later she was back in his surgery to tell him she was pregnant, having done the tests herself

I will check out the websites, they sound very informative. Great reading this thread (and very funny).

Judy
