Default "CarbSense" hot cereal review

Just bought a box of this yesterday and tried it...it's not bad, not great, but passable. I found it in a local health food store.

Contact the manufacturer:

I tried the "Roasted Hazelnut" flavour. It contains:
Soy protein concentrate
wheat bran
flax seed meal
hazelnuts
pumpkin seed flour
spices
salt

stats:
cost $6.00 US
8 servings per box
net weight 11.4 ounces (320 grams)
prepare in saucepan on stove or in microwave
calories 140
sat fat 0.5 gm
cholesterol 0mg
sodium 140 mg
total carb 15 gm
dietary fiber 12 gm
sugars 0 gm
protein 25 gm

It smelled delicious while cooking. Taste did not meet the aroma. It has a nice texture from the wheat bran, so I felt as if I were actually eating hot cereal. The hazelnuts were large enough to actually crunch. It did NOT have that nasty taste of soy. I had it w/ butter, whipping cream and SF pancake syrup.

I am going to try making muffins w/ this, mixed w/ the Atkins Bake mix and added baking powder and baking soda. I have had no luck at all using the seltzer water Dr. Atkins recommends w/ his Bake Mix...just doesn't raise at all.

I will add more nuts, and probably some SF pancake syrup or other AS to punch up the taste, as well as more pumpkin-pie type spices.

I doubt I would buy this product again.
