Hmmm, that's interesting, Sherry, I had not read that before, but it makes sense. I too was a runner, and everytime I took some time off, the rapid weight gain was amazing. Of course part of that is that when you are distance training, you can pretty much eat what you want- most of us keep up that pig-out menu when we stop running!

I am trying to incorporate some mild weight training in my exercise this time around. I have arthritis and pretty severe tendonitis in my ankles and knees, so there are a lot of things I can't do, but I am doing a mild upper body work out with free weights every other day, to supplement what I do on the cardio-glide. I use my bed (with the TV on- what luxury!) instead of a floor mat.

I know you can't spot reduce, but I am trying anyway to work on those darn "bat wings"- flap-flap-flap- gonna fly away soon! I do those head crunches, plus the usual stuff that can be done from the supine position- any other suggestions?
Hugs,
Kat
