I agree, you and your husband should consult your doctor, if you haven't already. I have also read Dr. Bernstein's Diabetic Solution as I am insulin resistant. It's a great book, very informative and of course is written by a doctor who is Type I and has controlled his condition with a LC diet. Definitely worth a read.
