Reduction Is Major Step Toward Goal of Eliminating Trans Fats From Cooking Oil. New U.S. Oil to Bring 48% TFA Reduction in McDonald’s Fries in Early 2003.

Let me see if I get this. McDonald's understands now that trans fatty acids are unhealthy so they are cutting them by 48%. Hmm... what am I missing here? TFA's are unhealthy so they make the fries 48% less unhealthy? But in early 2003 they will be able to remove all the unhealthy TFA's that they are unable to remove today.

And they are increasing the amount of polyunsaturated vegetable oils that have been shown to be unhealthy.

Oh, I get it. McDonald's will reduce one unhealthy fat and increase another unhealthy fat. Balanced approach, I guess?
