IMHO, This is not your problem, it's your boyfriend's. No LC plan is going to address his issues, no matter how much you care about him or how much research you do.

I think the best you can do is to get out of the middle of his problem. This is a battle you simply cannot win, and one that will sidetrack you from your goals. In professional circles, this is called "enabling". He needs to stand on his own two feet here, and the most loving thing you can do is to help him do that.

You and he both deserve better. I'm sure you are a wonderful, loving caring person and he undoubtedly has wonderful attributes as well, but you are not revealing them to each other right now.

Professional care for him; loving detachment for you. LC is beside the point.
