Hi Hipnochik

Alcohol is allowed on the low carb way of life, but you need to know the following:

Alcohol, whilst it is not a carbohydrate is an energy source. As such your body will use this first before it uses the fat you so want to loose.

The occasional glass of wine is OK, but you also need to count the carbs, around 3-4 a standard glass. The same goes for licquiers which are likely to have a higher carb content.

Spirits, gin, vodka, etc, do not contain any carbs - just alcohol and so the occasional G & T (low sugar) may be the preferred drink.

If you hit a stall then you might want to stop drinking for a week or two. I have noticed in several peoples journals the negative effects of regular wine drinking.

So you can indulge, but you know the potential costs.
