hi,
I am also hypothyroid. I tried everything to lose weight-exercising like a mad man and eating a low cal diet. Low cal doesn't work. It may work for a short term but your metabolism will eventually slow. I also was put on a low fat diet by my naturopath and gained 2 lbs in a month. Atkins is the first diet to work for me. I've lost 7 lbs since June 1 and I'm eating between 1300-1800 calories a day.
