Hello ctenore: My first suggestion is that you relax. Your body has lost a HUGE amount of fat in a very short time and it is taking a rest to regroup and assess the changes. This is exactly what happened to me when I began. After the first 20 pounds, I stayed on Atkins but the scales refused to move for another 12 weeks. But I was so happy to be 20 pounds lighter, that I stuck with the way of eating. Suddenly I started losing again.

During that 'period of adjustment', I really learned to make low-carbing a way of life, not just a diet. And it will happen for you too.

Go to the Newbies Forum and click on the "Hot Links" thread which is at the top. There's a thread called 'Do you really expect your progress to be all losses". It explains lots about what is and will happen. Or just click here for the Hot Links or here for the specific thread.

You need Patience and Persistence to keep on this way of eating and you WILL lose the weight when your body is ready.
