It sounds to me like you've already answered your own question!
I think that WHENEVER possible, it's best to eat whole foods for your snacks, but a 1/2 a bar 2-3 times a week probably wouldn't be too bad. There are quite a few people, especially those who work out, that endulge in protein shakes. They are a great way to deliver the essential nutrients we're looking for.... I add flax oil, glutamine and psyllium to mine which I may not get in otherwise.
