I agree up to a point. I think the thing to remember is that the carby stuff that Schwarzbein wants us to count are those that would make our insulin rise. Which to me means being careful of the fruit (I love them strawberries too!), but keeping other things in proportion. For instance, Lightlife has vegetarian "turkey" slices that are 1 carb per slice, and I have 3 for a snack. However, they have 3 g protein per slice, so I figure 3 carbs with 9 protein grams isn't going to make my insulin shoot up, so that's OK. That makes sense, doesn't it?
