Hi Ann

As a low carber presently on maintainence, yes, this is normal.
You do need to experiment and find out what you can have and what you are sensitive to.
I have been able to incorporate small amounts of rice, potato and even pasta back into my diet, and I've managed to keep my goal
weight. I fluctuate with 3 to 4 lbs per month, mostly TOM water gain. I've found that for me, eating meals as if they were a CAD meal really works well for me. I eat protien, veggies and small amount of carbs (2 spoonful of rice, pasta or potato) and I do ok.
If I go overboard, I do feel like crap, I get that sleepy, sluggish feeling and usually fall asleep within 1/2 hour. (not a good thing).
I also drink a ton of water. I feel that I'm eating a lot less too.
I use a small plate, and rarely go for refills. I even find myself giving a portion to the dog.

It can be done in moderation. You seem to know what works for you. Keep up the great work.

Good Luck
Jo
