While interesting and cute, a lot of these types of arguments tend to be largely innapplicable.
For instance, we don't see LC folks arguing against the use of vinegar, even though Wegman's White Distilled Vinegar has
a measured pH of 2.55 and can do pretty much all of the above things as well.
Also, most citrus fruits have a pH in the neighborhood of 2 and are quite corrosive.
