I would say that once you start to feel better and comfortable that you can revert to the maintenance. But I would keep your goal the way that it is at 250. What I have found easier is to set short term goals rather than long term. When I originally started I said that I wanted to lose 10lbs. Once I reached the 10 I set it at 20lbs and so on. My goal now is to reach weight loss of 40lbs and I am 4 lbs away from that. I think looking at in a small picture is better than looking at it as having 24lbs to go. Try that and see how that works for you.
