Are you the Doreen that has written articles regarding L/Carbing?

I have written low carb articles here for Active Lowcarbers. You can check them out by clicking on Low Carb Tips from the orange menu bar near the top of the page.
Splenda does have carbs actually ... both the pourable/scoopable type in the box, and in the little paper packets/sachets. Here's why .. sucralose is the actual sweetener that's in Splenda, and by itself has no calories or carbs. However, the manufacturer adds fillers to bulk it up and make it convenient to use. The fillers have carbs ... maltodextrin and dextrose are the most commonly used. Splenda has 0.5g per teaspoon for the pourable, and 1g carb per packet (each packet is equivalent to 2 tsp sugar)
For more information about Splenda and other artificial sweeteners, check out my article Sweetener Information.
