Donna, ten pounds can be a lot - it's all a matter of perspective. The number of lbs lost during the initial stages of LCing isnt what you should look at - it is the percentage of weight that is lost. Generally you'll lose 10% the first month - 10% of 150 lbs is 15 lbs in one month. It is 3 lbs if you have 30 lbs to lose.
Of course some of us lose a little more, a little less, at first. This is often a function of how much water we are retaining and how much muscle mass we have (muscle holds glycogen stores which are depleted w/in the first days of LCing).
I think if you focus on percentages you'll see we all lose about the same amount.
