I did this for years... It is not a magic bullet either, but it does work well.
If I really pigged out for 2 weeks lots of people would notice the size difference. Even with clothes. It was not all fat... some fat, lots of muscle fullness, and a feeling of testosterone increase.
People at my gym at the time must have wondered what was up with me... lifting heavy for a couple weaks and looking bigish, followed by light weights and looking smallish. Or maybe it was just my imagination.
