I absolutely need something to eat most nights. I generally only eat 2 meals a day, so my midnight snack is my 3rd meal. I'm sure I'd lose more if I cut it out -- but I'd also be miserable and hungry and then I might as well go back to eating low fat!

If you NEED to eat, then you should eat. Since it's a lifestyle and not a diet, it really isn't a race to the finish. If you don't burn it during the night, at least you made the healthy decision to feed your body when it needed food.

If it's just a habit and you're just snacking our of boredom, then skip it. The trick is knowing the difference.
