I don't see a problem with canned foods as long as they don't comprise the majority of what you're eating. A can of tuna for lunch never hurt me or stalled my progress. Drinking plenty of water will also help curb the bloat effects of salty foods. Everyone is different, so trial and error is the key to finding what works best for you.
