You can, but why? Expanding your food horizons keeps you learning about food, your tolerance level for carbs and from getting bored.

If you ate steak with a plain salad everyday for dinner, 2 eggs and 3 pieces of bacon for breakfast, and a can of tuna with mayo and celery for lunch all the time and for the remainder of your weight loss phase, how much further ahead in the grand scheme of things would you be.

Expanding carb and food boundaries assures you of a smooth transistion into OWL.

I prefer to look at the big picture and not just the weight loss benefits.
