Obesity definitely plays a role in the persistence of asthma

D**n it, that's so wrong! It's not obesity, it's grains (and maybe over-eating carbs in general). I know from reading on this site and eslewhere and I know from personal experience. I had all sorts of allergies and asthma until I started low-carbing. Now I have no asthma and my allergies are minor. And I live in the allergy capitol of the US -- Sacramento.

that obesity precedes asthma. It seems to be a cause of asthma, rather than an effect.

Then why were all the asthmatic kids I knew in school thin?

Ooh, this one makes me mad! They should be looking at dietary triggers and they're not at all. It's all genetic and caused by obesity. Bull!
